Biomechanical Manoeuvres
Giles Cleghorn Method and Training - The CMT™ manipulation of the head and neck
This two day course offers a taster of the wide spectrum of biomechanical manipulations, as practiced by Giles Cleghorn, refined and perfected in over 30 years of his clinical work.
As with all good methods of bodywork, we return to anatomy and physiology and build on the principles and techniques over this two-day seminar. HVT's are not used in this method at all and it is therefore safe and gentle, yet highly potent.
Academics will cover:
- The anatomy and physiology of the blood vessels of the head and neck.
- The physiology of the cervical sympathetic and parasympathetics.
- The drainage of the head and neck through the lymphatics.
Applied Manipulative Medicine
Students will be helped in the thinking process of applying manipulation to physiological problems and how to apply them to clinical practice.
Pathology
We will discus the use of this CMT method in the treatment of road traffic whiplash, headache syndromes, sinusitis, ENT problems in all age groups, neuralgia of the head and face, joint misalignments and soft tissues diseases.
Practical sessions will have emphasis on clinical applications and include:
- Introduction to the treatment of the skull bones, face and jaw - direct method II
- The treatment of the upper cervical spine
- The treatment of the cervical ganglion and the otic/palatine ganglion
- The upper thorax and cervical thoracic junction
- The upper two ribs
- The clavicle and the scapula
This course runs for 2 days, giving 16 hours of CPD.
